University of Maryland director of athletics Kevin Anderson announced the hiring of Ray Leone as coach of the womenís team Wednesday. Leone, who coached Harvard for the last nine seasons, becomes the ninth head coach in program history.

COLLEGE PARK, Md.--Freshman Eryk Williamson scored his fifth goal in as many games as No. 10 Maryland defeated defending champion Virginia, 1-0, in the second round of the NCAA Menís Championship at Ludwig Field Sunday night.

Maryland Terrapins midfielder Tsubasa Endoh

The Maryland Terrapins struggled for much of the season, but finished strong in winning their fourth successive conference title. Japanese senior midfielder Tsubasa Endoh, DC Soccer News Men's College Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 16, led the way for the Terrapins with two goals in the final two games and was also named Offensive Most Valuable Player of the Big Ten Conference tournament.
